I'm a Midwestern girl! Born in Joliet, Illinois and raised in Homer Glen, both suburbs of Chicago.
After earning a Bachelor degree in broadcast journalism from Illinois State University moved to Tucson, Arizona.
My television career began in 1997 with a position in media sales at KOLD News 13. Later transitioned into news, making my on-air debut in 2000. I wore many hats at KOLD: general assignment reporter, consumer reporter, morning news anchor and meteorologist.
My love of weather eventually took me back to school. Completing the Broadcast Meteorology Program through Mississippi State University. Went on to earn the American Meteorology Society Seal ( AMS ) followed by the Certified Broadcast Meteorology Seal ( CBM ) . At the time, I was one of just 30 women in the world with a CBM accreditation from the American Meteorology Society.
In 2006, joined the KGUN 9 On Your Side news team where I am Chief Meteorologist. You can watch me at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm on KGUN 9 and at 9pm on KWBA.
I've won an Emmy award for best weathercast and an Arizona Associated Press Award for news writing. I'm an active member of the American Meteorological Society , National Weather Association and Southern Arizona Research , Science and Engineering Fair.
